To the editor:
Vassalboro is having a special election (March 3) to replace our friend and select board member, Michael Poulin, whose untimely death has left a position open on an interim basis. There will be an election in June to fill the position as a regular board member.
I am supporting Carlene (Candy) Clark. Candy was born and raised in Vassalboro, and she has returned home after working for the State of Florida (e.g., in the Department of Health). Her ties to our town are strong even in these cold days! When asked why she wants to get engaged in town governance, Candy mentions that she wants to give back to her community, and her experiences in state and county programs have enabled her to develop skill sets in both financial and IT issues.
Absentee ballots are available at the Town Office, which can be requested in person or by calling the Clerk, (207) 872-2826. In person voting will be held at the Town Office on March 3, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Please join me in voting for Carlene Clark for interim Select Board member.
